Brian, valves should be the same, it's all in the electrical parts and harnesses. Need the control box, harness, potentiometers etc. Don't need accumulator for header control but will be real nice if you use cornhead on combine.
we have that on our 750 never did work from day one. best way to regulate the head is with you hand on the lever. ours never worked from day one. massyman
havent had any problems that way but i know the operators manual has a step by step trouble shooting section on the ahhc if you could get your massey dealer to get those pages for you it might be some help. iwas wondering if you ever harvest red clover or alfalfa for seed.
Does your head constantly hunt up and down when it was working beforeIJ - when it does this it is possible that the oil gets overheated and causes the poppets to melt in the electrovalve. It sounds strange the way you described the problem - cycling all the way from the top to the bottom. like your sensor shaft under the header is bent or has a bent arm - sticking the shaft and not returning the vane between the reed switches. Disconnect all the wires in the switchbox at header right end and check this area (connections). The next area to check is the relay module inside the control console. Two of the relays are the same and can be switched to verify thier condition. The other latches the controls into auto when you press the down button. Hell, maybee you've got this fixed already - hope this helps.

There is also a canadian system available for combines to do the same. Can't recall the name.

G'Day Captain I would assume that you have the late model AHHC (The one with the black box on the right hand cab pillar!!!) This system would not be very hard to set up on any thing you wanted!! The AHHC on the combine does not have to be alter at all, all you would need is to have a look at what's on a flex head and rig up a trailing drag arm that would move the potentiometers that are on each end of the header the correct orientation so as to move the front up and down according to the height of the ground. You could move the potentiometers to opposite ends of the front so as to make them move in a more friendly way , so as to make the drag link easier to fit! I would think with a bit of lateral thinking you should be able to get the standard AHHC to work with your pick up front. I would like to do the same thing with our flex front when it's locked up in rigid mode for when Im doing wheat or barley! this would help with keeping the header height constant with the ground as the grain box fills.
