I went back to try find notes on what you were having a problem with but couldn't locate. Did you check the orfice behind the plug inbetween the valves to see if it was loose or plugged. I would try to remove the relief valve seat to be sure it is not loose or oring blown. Be very careful when tightening for it will break very EZ. I have not seen many problems with pump or the compensator. Maybe a few broken springs in the compensator or in the pump over the years but not nearly as common as the master valve.
