I have a 1660 with 22.5 grain head and have no problem backing out slugs. You might also check your battery cable its a very long cable on mine also it should be very hot.
I have a 2366 with six row head and the reverser will back it up a long ways even if several rows happen to plug. You must have something wrong not sure what it might be.
We have a 2000 model 2388 that does the same thing. It works fine on the platform but not on the corn head. 30 ft platform, 8 row corn head, any help would be appreciated.

I've seen a high torque reverser for sale through Worthington Ag parts I think in Sikeston, Mo. It consists of different sprockets and chains than the Case version. I don't know price or anything I just saw it in the catalog they send out.
