Combines headercontour

My dealer's mechanic made four different trips to the field to install the contour sensors on a 30'. I could go into a lot more detail, but it ended up as follows: A new harness was required for the header, to accomodate the sensors. The first one Deere sent went back to the old 9 pin instead of the new larger one. The next trip brought the "supposedly" correct harness, but when installed, showed errors in the cab, and could not be calibrated. The third trip (after consulting with the problem squad at the factory) resulted in some rewiring on the sensors, and it enabled the head to respond to stimuli at the sensors, and the head would react. However, it still could not be calibrated, showed errors when attempted to operate in normal mode, and would not function. The factory's opinion was that the draper head did not need this capability, since it could accomodate any terrain with it's linkage and guage wheels. Obviously, they don't cut much grain in the Idaho area. Bottom line was that it never functioned properly during the season. They assure me that they will have a remedy before next year. Overall, I have really been pleased with the draper, and only cut about 2000 acres of the severe hills. However, if they can't get it resolved, I will probably look really serious at a flex head next year.
