yes, we have removed the helicals from the access panel just to the left of the thresh grate. Mixed results, but is is an easy job compared to reverse bars. Won't hurt, give it a try and let us know your results. Do you have a 52 or 62IJ

The R-60 only gets used in soybeans, at least that is the plan given the R-72 doesn't give trouble. We just never have rotor loss problems in beans. Overall rotor loss in corn with the R-72 has never been bad however there are a couple of hybrids that are definantly on the upper end of acceptable (over 1_2bu sometimes approaching 3_4bu). Our goal is to be 1_4bu or so. Anyway, no plans to further modify R-60 specifically for corn. No easy way to get at helicals in P1 R-60's. Maybe could reach a couple from end of cylinder but would probably have to remove stop sign...I doubt one could reach much thru little door in stop sign.
