Go to the tips section and scroll down the page. You have a bad oring in the valve stack that when the oil is cool it works fine but warm it does not. I had same problem 2-3 yrs ago on my 42. Not a bad job at all I pulled the stack aout tore down and back to running in a little over a hour.

To test wiring try switching the up and down wires on the hydo stack, if it moves up when you hit the down side then it is in the wiring. Do this when it is hot. Had same proublem on a N. turned out to be in the releave springs in the hydo stack. Good luck

THANKS ! it is great to know someone reads the board for fun and profit! You are probably correct, the seat is moving with the poppet on the raise side. If only they had the valve reversed... then the culprit would be on the outside.....

It's kind of crazy that I have read and saw your tip on these valves for years. Until this year I don't know if I've seen the problem. All of a sudden I've likely had a half dozen machines with this exact problem. We loctite the seat in per your instructions if we have time for it to cure before next use. Thanks for the tips.

Just wondering, if the o-ring is the problem why does the head raise sometimes and sometimes it just moves very slowIJ I'm not doubting you about this being the problem, just trying to understand what is going on. Thanks, Dan

the oring prevents the seat from moving with the poppet. as Dan stated we try to loctite the seat in so the 71321101 will not come into play. .... When the seat moves with the poppet it is the same as the poppet not moving.
