Combines help setting up a 2388

duke, Since nobody seems to want to comment, I'll give you my "2388 dream machine" for wheat and milo. You can pick out the parts you're willing to pay for. Specialty rotor with complete set of Gordon bars, small wire concave in the front and 2 large wire concaves behind it. Use three Gordon cover plates for wheat, two for milo. I would try 3 keystock grates to get extra separation in milo. Make sure it has a chopper. I would use the loewen adjustable air foil sieve AND chaffer. Add the air deflector kit from Future Farming Solutions. For front tires I would use axle extensions and the 76X50-32 Firestone 23deg DT logger on three peice rims (you'll have to move the final drives to the high position). On the rear I would use 28lR26 radials from Michelin and factory rear wheel assist with the 2 speed (these tires will probably not clear the return elevator without a little modification to move the mudhog units back). Add the high speed pulley for the straw spreader and the latest factory offering for fins on the spreader disks. Finally, look at the upper cross auger for the grain return elevator to see if it has a hole cut in the top of it. If it does, cover it with a piece of tin and hose clamps to make sure all of the return grain goes back into the rotor. With a machine set up like that, I would think a person would be able to cut in the worst mud conditions, cause minimal compaction, have very high capacity for this size machine, and a great grain sample. Just my $.02
