Combines HElP with R52

l3

Is there any way of knowing how much is coming over the return on these machinesIJ I'm so used to looking out the window of the l3 to check it, that I can hardly stand it in the R62, not knowing what's going on. Sorry I couldn't help, but I want to know how to prevent the same thing!

I'm sure someone has a better idea but when you said you tried a pipe wrench on the shaft did you mean with the longest pipe you could find to gain some leverage. I would put the pipe wrench on the cam lock collar for the bearing on the outside of the elevator and get the big pipe out. I would turn it opposite the direction it normally turns. Curt

I was thinking the same thing. Havent run a l2 for 10 years but when I went to beans the other day I thought I wish there was a way to see how much is going over the return. like on the old l2 I would always set it for beans by looking out the window to see how much is going over the return.

we miss the tailings visual as does everyone else. the way we try to set the combine is to use ONlY the top chaffer and air settings to get 95% of whats exceptable in the grain bin first. then if you need a hair more use the sieve to finish the job, which will put as little through the return elevator as possible. dumping everything on the sieve will do nothing for you. hope this helps.
