I got 175$ from a neighbor two years ago to run 10 acres of corn, he used my wagons but he hauled them to town. I charged him 140$ cause I wanted the work but he paid me 175$, good deal I thought. Usually I make 100 break 200$ but not that time....
around here southern il that is i charge $25 acre for combineing corn beans and wheat i have one customer for everthing he is a close neighbor and an older gentlemen when i took on the acres i asked him what he was pay9ing and charged that way otherwise i just helped out a few neighbors when they would breakdown and we would figure out the going rate and go from there when i do this guys feilds if he needs a wagon i bring it along i picked up jis acreage cus the guy he had doing it picked up some land and gave up custom work but if i get in a pinch he will comein and ddo this guy again the farmer hauls himself and if he gets behind i do help him out but going rate here is anywhere from 18-27 depends on who you get how many acres there fuel or yours i furnish fuel for most of my work to dairyfarmer
I have a three thousand dollar small combine that sits 11 months out of the year. If I can drive a mile or two and make two hundred bucks with it I figure that is worth it. Trying to get some more out of my initial investment, it works out ok if I don't breakdown, if I do break I just patch it up and figure that saved me a breakdown running my crop. Maybe twisted logic but it works for me. I don't think I would feel the same if I had a R-65 or something that actually cost alot of money tho
