Thank you and your fellow combine makers for allowing us to come and see what you do. I've always thought Gleaner had a good machine and etc., and now to have been able to see what all takes place to put one together, I am truely impressed. Keep up the good work. I think you are moving in the right direction. Congradulations!

I assume we probably talked to you late Thursday about the "official" way to straighten header augers. We came away from the tour very impressed with quality control and the whole plant. We would have loved to spent much more time looking around but circumstances did not permit it.

I have a group of 50 ladies that said I couldn't make it to the plant tour - they all have four teats and chew their cud. But I sure hope to take a tour someday. I toured the Independence plant once and would like to see how things have changed in a new, modern facility. I just wanted to say that if you folks take even half as much pride in building the great Silver Fleet as we do in operating them, you will be building first-rate machines. Does anyone know if the "Plant Pal" program is still in operationIJ

My guys thought the tour was excellant. They really liked the way they moved the coupler zirk for less maintenance in the morning. Now there is only a few minutes to get the grain going to the bin and with a 14" unloader auger we lead the pack. Does anyone know what the bu_sec are nowIJ Did anyone sneak into the proto labIJ Caution: this message will self-destruct within one day due to its non harvesting content.

The bushels per second through the 14" auger was rated theoritically at 3.3 bu. per second but was told it was more likely going to be 2.9 bu._s. It definately looked massive. Made the auger look short! I hope they have the swivel and bin beefed up enough to support it. We were straining our necks to look into the prototype lab but couldn't see anything. I think if we had wandered off into the lab, we probably would still be there!

I'm not sure, but I would assume there will be a tour when you come to the training center.

Too much BS at the begining. We had a 10 hour bus ride to get to Hesston and the last thing I wanted to do was waste 1.5 hours sitting in a hot auditorium listening to people try to convince me how great the Gleaners are. Weren't most of these people Gleaner ownersIJ If so why try to sell them againIJ I would have enjoyed touring the planer works or spent more time on the assembly lines than listening to some executive tell me how great Hesston was going to be for Gleaner. Also, drop the HFI. Combines, tractors and planters have little to do with hay or forage. Nothing against the dairy guys. Other than these complainst the actual tour was very nice.

Hey whats the dealIJ My dealer wouldn't take anybody on the tour because they didn't want us custom harvester customers and he wasn't going to take the rest and leave us behind. Is he a TA blowing smokeIJ or is that the storyIJ Sure would like to see that plant. Been running them silver shields since 65 put 350 hrs on an R72 in 6 weeks last fall. And never on Sunday

There were plenty of custom harvesters there. I think most if not all the combines being made right now are for the custom harvestors. The machines on line have the names of the dealer and the customer on the combine and I know several were for custom harvest crews. There is a combine clinic comming up April 5th. And I am told they will have tours of the combine plant again. If I were you, I would shake up the dealer. Being a long time customer, he should make sure you continue to be one.
