Cousins ran this fall, 2 2388's with 2 NH, a TR99 and an 86, I beleive. They said the two 2388's would regularly lap the NH's. The 99 was pushing a 25' head, and the 88's were pushing 30's. This was also in very tough beans this year. And after they do this, they're complaing about not having enough power!!! I don't think it's ever enough;0) As far as rebuilding, I don't know any combine that will have less maintenance cost per acre than an IH. We have an old 1480 and spend about $3.25_acre in maintenance to keep it going. I don't have any personal experience there with NH, but I do know we spent close to $10 to keep our older JD running.
