Hey, onion farmer.. does your 8780XP have plenty of HPIJ I hear some guys in corn country say that in heavy crops it might be lacking a little for unloading on the go and such. A good friend of mine and I have been thinking it would be neat to put a 6V92 in an 860 for a fun project. I think the motor should be in the back and put a better cab on there too, but this is getting out of hand. GS

I have not had any power problems even pulling steep hills. I can tell you its the best combine I have been around. In farm show magazine a guy put a 903 in a 860 and it fit. Hope things are going well in your part of the world.

I was reading your comment about putting a 6v92 into an 860, and the answer you recieved from onion farmer about the guy in the farm show magazine that put a 903 in in a 860. Well I'm the guy who built that machine. Funny how word gets around even after 11 years. The 903 worked great but we were not satasfied to leave the machine with all that power and not increase the capasity too. So we continued improveing the combine by adding larger seives two cylinders and concaves ( yes twin cvlinders) and replacing the straw walkers with twin seperation rotors. It is not completed yet so I can't give you any preformance reports yet, but It should be quite a machine. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments.
