Heard the same about loads of engines. Don't know much about it but there was one of them taking up room in stubble field for quit some time last fall just a couple miles from here. Hard to say how much trouble there is when most are sworn to silence. I've had good luck with all engines used in the combine in the last twenty plus years. Most all failures weather air or water cooled are directly related to keeping them cool, serviced, and treating like a diesel engine should be. I myself can't wait for them to install there own engine for they run as sweat and quite as any diesel I've been around. We started using that engine in small and mid sized tractors about eight years ago and they've been flawless. Warrentee is never more than a break even deal no matter how efficient so it's good for us and the custumer that it is kept to a minimum. One thing about flowing the straw properly in these Gleaners (the stress and strain on engines and drives is greatly reduced). Have a great day.
