Good day Dan, glad to see someone running the same setup as myself. last season when I ordered my head my dealer looked at me kind of silly when I said I wanted a 16'. Anyway back to the post, is this the first year for you with the 800 head. If it is I wouldn't change anything till you get to the field. All of my changes were done when I still ran the 300 series. As far as some of the mod's the biggest thing is to get those silly reverse bars out if not done yet. The next thing I would do if you are having problems in the feederhouse is get two rebuild kits for the torque limiter and stack them springs double in every hole. Then order new feeder chain with the heavy slats that weigh twice what agco's do. The head on mine is about stock as it gets, U2 pickup reel with for-n-aft, and standard sickle. On are F-3 we changed quite a bit but that is different subject. I really don't see the need for alot of the other mod's as long as you are getting along fine. Just remember if you are having alot of problem in the rear it all starts in the front. Now before I make anybody mad about the mod's I see where they would be benefical in different situations but all I run is soys and wheat with our rotor. last year in 70 bu. beans I ran a constant 4.5 mph with .5 over rotor go figure. Any other questions feel free to e-mail me.

This will be my fourth season with this combine. Had an F2 before this, what a great little machine it was, really liked the job it did but got more ground and needed bigger combine. My R42 is a 93 but I bought my 816 header brand new 4 years ago. I just put new helicals in this year but cylinder bars were still in excellent shape and I've been running with 2 reverse bars. I harvest corn and soybeans only. I just rebuilt my torque limiter but didn't double up on springs because I didn't know any better. like I said before though, I think my big problem is even feeding. First to years I had no problems because beans were tall but last year had short beans (thank goodness for that reverser). This year beans are short again so I'm anticipating more trouble. Are you using hosemod or anything that helps this problemIJ Who makes the heavier feed chainIJ Thanks again, Dan

I have used reel sweeps in the past with limited success. I just got done making a new set of sweeps but they are orientated a different way. I have yet to try them out but when I do I will let you guys know. The chain I used came from Sloan Express, also have the price of Agco. I have been tempted to try hose mod but never did for what ever reason. Do you run the fore-n-aft on yours. I believe with it and the U2 properly set that they take care of 99% of feed prob's. To be honest in my opinion my machine likes the shorter beans.

Hey Dan'el, Im back and on line(thanks to Gateway). If you decide to do the hose mod come look at the way I'm mounting it up. Right or wrong , I'mm changing those torks bolts(every other one),going through the hose with a 4"x3_8"bolt and nut. Anybody need some 3" conduit clampsIJ "anal in Iowa" Nick
