Actually doesn't take as much power as one would think. Overall system is more efficient in the movement of the grain at a slower rate. The scoop troughs really help the grain move to the vertical auger in a much more gentle fashion. Yeah the bigger auger takes some more horsepower to run, but the other end of the system makes up for that.
