Doodie, most of the croping area in Australia is away from the mountain ranges except for a small area in New Soth Wales hence we harvest mainly flat or slightly undulating ground.I lived in Nth. America for a while and i could not believe some of the hills you farm,i have never seen or harvested anything in Aust. that comes close to those hills, our tallest mountain Mt Kosciouszko is only 2228 metres high. There could be a need for a couple of hillside combines in some foothills but i don't think it would be many.john

Very little hilly crop farming ground at all, have been harvesting down aorund Harden in NSW, fairly steepish but nothing the normal 9600 couldn't handle. Its feet on the windscreen stuff, but no need for hillside combines.

Yeh that area's heaps of fun. Was working for a cutter a few years ago just west of Young. One place we pulled into with this old 7720, you could only harvest down hill, then take a side track back up to the top and go again. The old girl had dodgy brakes to start with and a 30ft front. Hardest days work I've ever spent sitting on my arse I can tell you!!
