I priced the sheet from my dealer at 202 list. I only need to fix a small area so am going a less expensive route. I am wondering if I put a patch over over just the hole if I am going to create problems with grain riding over the lead edge. just courious.

That is one of my concerns in patching just the hole. My thoughts are to lay a patch across the whole length of the auger. The reason I am concerned about this is I grow seed beans and get paid on cleanout. I think any ridge might create a spot to split more beans. I also wonder about it making the tin wearout quickly right after the patch.

we patch holes in the grain tank using stainless steel we cut out the hole and mount the new plate if u can mount so the new plate so it sits underneath the old the ridge is small and it doesn't affect the sample we get in seed beans hope it helps
