Homeschooling is a big thing and, back in the day, boys would typically finish out the 6th grade and then help full time on the farm, ranch or whatever. How many people who own and work acerage and have kids, do you think, homeschool their kids (the right way of course) for this purpose as well?

I know folks who homeschool, but they take it seriously. The parents treat it just like a public school would. The kids do farm chores in the morning, then they have breakfast, then they start school. The parents even bring in tutors when covering difficult subjects. I think times have changed and farm kids are now encouraged to get an education. A college degree can be beneficial to the business.

Our kids attend a public school, but we have considered homeschooling them. We feel it's important for them to socialize with their peers, though, so we chose to keep them in public school. They do have a couple of small daily chores and are expected to help out more on the weekends. We try to balance school, home life, and socializing with their peers.

we chose to keep our kids in public school for now. When they get older, we might talk about homeschooling if they really want to, but we also think it's important that they get feedback from different teachers and their peers as part of the learning process.
