Over here in Australia the Honeybee has been generaly regarded as the best of the bunch for harvesting rice, the only drawbacks being increased weight and complexity due to the independant hydraulic system. John Deere Draper fronts have had initial problems in rice due to poor feed and blockage at the front feed roller. Macdon fronts seem to be slightly behind these two in terms of ease of operation and performance, however all of the above will outperform any of the rigid conventional fronts when harvesting heavy rice crops. A Honeybee front and JD CTS machine make for a serious rice harvesting combo when the conditions suit this combination i.e. laid, down crop. Stripper fronts such as the Shelborne Reynolds will however outperform them when the crop is standing. In Australian wheat the Honeybee is again slightly better than the rest, but the extra hydraulics make them expensive when compared to JD Draper fronts.
