Combines Hopper cracking on 9650stsIJ

We also have a 2001 sts, has about 1300 hours. I noticed caracks on the back side of the grain tank the other day. We have crary toppers. I talked to a JD tech and he said they have noticed a few machines with the same problem. He said they were just using a wire feed welder on them. Our 2002 machine is set up the same way with about the same hours, but have not noticed any cracking as of yet.

the cracks in your hopper are not uncommon this is a big fault with the sts with major structual repairs needed to solve the problem.not wanting to frieghten you sts lovers to much but i have pages of photos showing the cracks and jd`s attempted reconstruction.again and again.
