We have one on our 9600. Necessary in corn, very handy in everything else. We would not have one with out it. No problem yet because of it. 4500 hours

Try to think of hopper extensions this way. Hopper extensions are intended to help get to the end of a field or assist in a few cases where you need some extra grain capacity. They are not intended to provide continuous, additional grain tank capacity. If a situation does arise where the machine is loaded with an additional 90 bu of corn (approximately 5,040 lbs),the operator must use common sense and realize he cannot cross 3 ft. deep ruts and rough waterways without a little care.

A neighbor had a drive tire go down and when the tire repairman came to fix the problem it was noticed that the side wall had failed. The repairman was asked why this was on such a good looking tire and he then pointed up at the grain tank hopper extension. Almost everyone around here has one but you need to avoid "Cowboying it" when the tank is full. My $.02
