Combines hose mod and stones

Absolutely !!! Stone intake and damage has been dramatically lowered after we did the hose mod.Its a inexpensive mod that you will not regret doing.

Is there any or much difference between using a 2" or 3" hoseIJ

Used a 2" hose. Sometimes a few beans will pile up on the hose before being swept away, but not bad. I'd like to compare it to 3".

We installed a 3" liquid fertilizer hose on a 25 foot 500 head. Its amazing you won't belive how well it works. Put clamps about every 4 feet. Install a piece of flat iron bolted to the guards and then use a stainless steel clamp to hold the hose. Try it you will like it!!

I have compared the two and I'd highly reccomend the 3" hose. Actually, there is no comparison between the two - the 3" just works better. Tom langan

I put the 3" hose on a 300series 18foot head on my R52 this year. Clamped every 14". My beans are very short and yielding 10 to 14 bu and it is doing a great job of feeding. Not one feederhouse plug in 100 acres! Stones still get in but I think a little less than before the hose mod. I have the AHHC in the second setting from the lowest and that helps the stone problem. I'm travelling at 4.5 mph

Where you from DaveIJ Beans in our area are almost as bad.. yeilds from 20-25 bu seems to be tops.. down from a usual 45-50av..

well $500 vs maybe $25 dollars for the hose mod. At that much a difference its well worth trying the hose mod first:-]
