Mark, what improvements did you seeIJ What is the outside diameter of your hoseIJ I installed 2.5 OD hose last year and really didnt notice any changes. If there are no improvements this year I will remove it for 03. Tom in MN, the state where nothing is allowed.

Tom, I could never get short or green stemed beans to feed without slugging. Now, even with some rust on the feather sheets, everything just keeps flowing through. As for the size of the hose, I used 3" fertilizer suction hose and 3"conduit clamps to hold it down with. Mark

I have a K with a Hart Carter FC bar. Can I mount the 3" hose behind the guard and bolt the clamp through one of the guard bolt holesIJ Should the hose be flexible or rigid PVC in 2 or 3 lengthsIJ Thanks for the info.

We are a very left Wing, liberal state that has laws governing nearly everything. The phrase is popular in many areas of the state but as you can imagine, it isnt a bit popular with liberals.

Mark, would you have time to measure the actual outside diameter of your hose and post itIJ I am guessing you have 3.5 OD hose but I want to make sure before going through the trouble of installing another hose. I apologize for being rather picky, but I asked this very same question last year and installed 2.5 OD hose based on the replies I got. In my opinion it was a waste of time. I have reel sweeps on my reel that may be doing what you are looking for, namely, keeping the reel free of cut beans and eliminating the tendency to slug the feeder that I had previously. Maybe with reel sweeps properly installed I won't get much of an improvement from a hose.

I have an M2 with the same type H-C Gen III bar. I used 4 pieces of 2.5 inch PVC conduit cut to the lenght of each feather sheet and used conduit clamps bolted through the sheets to hold it down. Worked fine and well worth doing.

Tom use 3" suction hose which actualy measures 3.5" OD. You can then take your real sweaps off, real sweaps shells pods before the stalks get to the header. Randy
