Tom I just put a 3 inch fertilier hose on my R60 and it measures 3.5 outside diameter. It works very well. Hope this helps.

We mounted our's right behind the cutter bar on the same bolts that hold the guards on. We bolted the pipe down and then bent the clamps to hold the pipe up on top of the bolts rather than leaving the clamps flat and I think that's how we got the right height with a 2-1_2" OD pvc pipe. Curt

I have 3" suction hose and 3" conduit clamps with two holes. I see how to mount the front on the clamp on the guard bolt but what do I do with the hole on the backside of the clampIJ I am mounting on to a 816. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

We started out with those kind of clamps and just cut the back side off. BUT - they were too light and got bent up - dang near lost our hose. Finally got the heavy duty conduit clamps through our electrician and they have worked great. They are the kind with one mounting hole that just clamps over the conduit_hose. You can try the clamps you've got - perhaps they are heavier than the ones we had, but might not be a bad idea to find a source for the heavy clamps just in case. Good luck- Tom langan

Tom, Sorry I am just getting back to you. The hose I used measures about 3.5" or maybe just a little more O.D. It is A little hard to tell because the hose is the ribbed suction type.(black and yellow striped) Hope this helps. Mark P.S. I also used the heavy duty conduit clamps to hold the hose down. Just replaced the guard bolts where the clamps go with ones about .5" longer.
