In a 1680 like yours with a 25' platform, I am running 600rpm rotor, 1050 fan, 3 on concaves ( I just set it quick after corn and never had to change it),2.8 mph in 55 bpa beans.
we have ran as low as 375 rotor rpm, and as high as 1100 in tough grass scattered with a bean stalk here and there...high rotor rpms don't crack as bad as high cylinder speeds. Remember one thing, as long as the rotor speed box is in low range the drive belt is running faster = much longer belt life.
1620 15' 1020 rotor 660 fan 950 chaffer 5_8, shoe 1_4, concave 1, 35 bu beans 3-3.5 mph i had to close up my concaves and shoe because of unthrashed pod. looks much better. Duane
On our 2366 we were continuously getting material puked back out of the rotor and coming out of the feeder house and were running the rotor at 500 and concaves at 2. We opened the concaves to 5 and have much more capacity and smoother running. Pods against pods do a much better job of threshing than pods against the concave. Open the concaves and the rest of your settings sound good. No splits either. Be sure to keep the machine plenty full.
