Combines How do you turn up the pumpon 1688

I wouldn't take a chance on adjusting the pump on the machine. It should go to a good pump shop to set the governor for combine use. You may be lacking power, which would be an excellent reason to have the pump calibrated, but it is also possible that you are simply loosing too many RPM before you generate the full HP. A tuned up governor will fix that. Call Michael at Diesel Equipment Specialists in Salina, KS. 1-800-456-3374. He knows these pumps inside and out and can get yours in tip top shape.

Country Boy, When ever I hear "lack of Power" I think of fuel filters. I have found new filters can do wonders to restore power. lucky luke

I had a new 2388 with a bad fuel pump, low fuel pressure, make sure you check the pressure at the pump.

Well you want secret info. well working in a case IH dealership for years we often tweeked the pumps on case combines and it is not that easy for the common mechanic without proper testing gauges and tools but if you want to start with something i would measure the shim pack in the pump and then remove about 10 to 15 percent of the total length this will give you more fuel flow and more presure( 40 to 45 hp increase ) but before doing this make sure you'r injectors are tested and good. Also at work we tweek the pump by putting in a highway tractor governor which is more responsive and sharper these are just a little things to start with but if i didn't know anything about pumps i would take the injectors and pump to a diesel shop to get checked out.
