I can't see why they would want to weed out dealers. The biggest problem CNH has is lack of dealer coverage. Almost everyone in Eastern VA is running green equipment because Deere has the dealer network here. Another weird policy that they have is that if you own a dealership, and you want to retire and sell the business to someone else. CNH will not allow the franchise to be transferred easily. Our local New Holland dealer was 75 years old and wanted to retire, but Case New Holland would not let him transfer the franchise, to a boy who had worked there for several years and wanted to buy the business, so he ended up closing it down. Not only did CNH lose dealer coverage, they also cost the dealer who ran the business a lot of money that he could have made by selling the dealership. Now, I have to make a 80 mile round trip to get parts for all of my NH hay equipment.

The IH Case-IH CNH or whatever has gone downhill ever since Case took over in late 80's. Sure is sad since they probably have the best line of equipment they ever had {and that's coming from a GREEN guy}, except for a 1660 combine . Here in west central Il. all the Integrated Agri Inc. stores closed Fri 11_09 ,six locations in Illinois that I know of maybe more plus those in Ia and MO . That leaves a big hole in the state. This area was RED dominant till Case started cutting dealers . Within 12 miles we had two family owned well run dealerships , Case forced them out in favor of their company store which since has gone through two ownerships none of which had parts and service was questionable . Now we have two private owned dealers 35 miles each way . Both are well managed by family members , 24_7 during busy season and lots of parts also good service . When are these big companies going to wake upIJ If we had a more agressive Deere dealer there wouldn't be any RED left around here. Seems like all they want , DEERE included is a fancy place along the Interstate Hwy with lots of concrete , shrubery , secretarys , receptionists etc. high overhead with NO PARTS and service . I do most of my own servicing , but parts sure are important , I can't see paying $50-60_hr to change belts etc. If I knew who to talk to I sure would give them an earfull . My $.02 JIM

C.N.H. in Racine WI 262-636-6011 talk to customer service. If all else fails start asking for the Head of Farm Equipment(if in the US)North America. The "company" is usually very responsive. Wait a couple of days and if you get no reply call again. Did you ever have a noisy bearing on the combine that you did not listen to. NO!! The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Now, as we all know the only constant thing in life is change. So what do we do, we need to Shut-up, Move on, and get over it. Does that mean roll over and get walked on. NO!!! Remind the Case "company" person you talk to that they are expense, you are income!!!! That is the key income vrs expense that is what the "company" looks at. Supply and demand. To many dealers, to much supply, but to few dealer, listen well Mr Case, we take our business elsewere.
