Combines How does the new rotary match up again Case IH and Sperry New Holland

I cut thousands of acres of corn and soybeans with John Deere combines and also Case IH rotor combines. I have seen the new machines but not in operation of harvesting. After that happens I will give an educated opinion.

I am a custom cutter (contract harvester) in Australia and in the last three months have worked side by side with these machines.The Tr 99 is about the same in capacity as the 9650 sts and the 2388.In certain conditions all three had cleaning problems in tough wheat where we had to close every thing up to get the grain out of the head which lead to overthreshing.The sts had 5_6 of it's concaves blanked off,the Tr99 a third.As for fuel economy the Tr99 wins followed by the Case and the sts really loves it's diesel although the Tr99 needs to be good on fuel as it's fuel tank is small.The cabs of the 2388 and the sts are ahead of the Tr as for daily service NH love to hide their grease nipples.I think it all comes down to the after sales service and most important the nut behind the steering wheel not the colour.john

Up to now I have not insulted anyone personally,I have opinions about combines, not the people that have personal prefernces. A combine is no better than the person running it and the dealership behind,it, no matter what color or how many rotors it has or which way they function.

farmboyatheart,I don't know your farming situation or how good your local dealers are so I can not give you advice there but we looked at the sts and decided to give Deere a bit longer to get some bugs out of them after all Case,NH and Gleaner have been at the rotary game for years and they had do updating after farmers got their hands on them.Whichever you choose you should be happy with and just ignore this colour war garbage.john
