I assume you have a standard rotor, if so the answer would be , do it. The combo of disrupters and serrated rear rotor bars will do a good job in chewing up straw, and less headaches in the spring.
My thoughts are if the stem and etc. are dry then it does a wonderful job of chopping up fodder, but if the fodder is green or tuff, I haven't seen and advantage to them at all. JMO Brad NC. IN.
We run both our 1460's w_ standard rotors with Disruptors. A very good investment for us as it nearly eliminated rotor rumble and we could go in much tougher conditions. I am also running a 1680 with a specialty rotor this year. Am thinking of putting the Disrupters in there also to prevent from corn being carried out in the fodder. So far rotor rumble has Not been a problem at all on the 1680! Even greenish beans barely slowed it down. The header is what seems to hold it back! I have a nearly perfect sample. I got that on the initial settings and haven't changed anything since. I hope corn will be that simple but I doubt it. I'm very impressed with the machine compared to a 1460 which was a HUGE step up from the 715's I used to run!! I would vote for the Disrupters. Don Estes is a very knowledgable fellow.
I installed a set of disruptors and notched seperator bars in my 1660 with standard rotor before harvest and it made a different machine out of it. I can run green stems and go much later in the evening than ever before. They were a good investment.
