We are just west of Wichita, and have not yet been in the field with all the rain. We walked all the fields this weekend and there really isn't anything there to speak of, and what is there is just shriveled beyond recognition. I believe that that 6" snow in April was just too much. A friend south of us went to 4 different fields and cut 4 truckloads. The BEST test weight was 46.7 and the elevator wouldn't take any of it. The kicker has been that we would have loved to bale some of it and couldn't get in the fields to do so with all the rain. let's hope that it looks better when we can actually get in the field later this week.
