it will work - be nice if RWA. We have a couple using 830's and it will match your head. just slow the rate of lower down and use accumulator. The rate of harvest is a function of width and speed. 830 huggers are a bit rare and pricey nowadays , hunt early.

Thanks tbran, we do have RWA. Would we have to hang any weights on the backIJ Probably look for a late '80s or early '90s model. Are those 830s or are they newerIJ I guess I was mainly worried about being able to lift one and the rear end floating. Marc

if you have rwa, it should be no problem. 830 hugger is APPROX 1200n heavier than 630 - imagine 5 220 n mother in laws standing in your 6 row header.... We have run 830's on l3's as well.

I run a 8-30 on my l2 with no problem as far as light rear end. A neighbor runs a 8-30 on a R-50 without rear wheel drive.

Now that takes farming and farm language to a new level.... If you put 5 MOl's on the front, you must counter with 3 SOB's on the back. Sound about rightIJ

I run a 8-30 on a N5 and a R52 without RWA and have ran it in 200+ bushel corn. It will not run off with it but it handels it well. I like to have the extra room when opening a field for a grain cart and also leaving the ladder down. I also kinda like that it makes the rear end a little lighter.
