I run the top position for corn and middle for beans. It only takes 3 minutes to change with wrenches.

of the ten to twelve guys i know pretty well most of us leave it in the middle position and never change, if we do it only takes 5 min.

Yes,I adjust front drum,High for corn, mid for beans and wheat. I also lock the drum arms down(lower the upper stops down to the arms)This stops the front drum from floating or bouncing, which will finally destroy the whole setup.Another benefit from locking the drum into a rigid position is it will "catch" a slug and slip the throat clutch instead of letting it pass and plug the rotor instead.I find it much easier to reverse the throat than unplug the rotor.

I leave it in the high position for both corn and beans and have no problems. I tried usong the middle position on beans and all it does is slug constantly.

WE RUN All THE WAY DOWN FOR BEANS AND All THE WAY UP FOR CORN. WE AlSO lOCK THE ARMS DOWN FOR BEANS.THE MAIN RESON IS TO KEEB ROCKS FROM GETTING PAST THE FRONT DRUM.IT DOESN'T TAKE THAT lONG AFTER YOU'VE DONE IT A FEW TIMES.
