the feed acceletator knives can be turned, there is a gauge u can get to check the trashing elements and concave, rear discharge knives can be turned if not broke, chopper knives last about 700 to 1000 hrs, vertical unloading augers last about 900 hrs grain tank cross augers and cl grain top sprockets and lower sprockets and auger around 900 hrs, you can get to the shoe augers with the tranny being removed look for roll pins wearing on agers you can replace the complete auger cheaper than repairing the bearing

We had a 9650 STS from 2001 - 2003. Put 1240 sep hours on the clock and never encountered any of those problems.

It depends a lot what you run through an STS. I have replaced all anloading augers after 400 hours (soybeans). Pretty much the same applies to the rest of the machine. Rocks and dirt (soybeans mainly) wear a machine three to four times as fast as wheat. If chopper knives are not replaced in time, they cause vibration and litteraly destroy the whole chopper. The threshing elements and separator tines are the longest lasting pieces in the STS. I have not changed any yet, but everything else.

if you weld a 1_4" or 3_8" rod around the circumference of the wear side of the screw before you replace them, you probably won't have to randr the augers for many times the 400 hrs you mention. Done it to all mine. Only one showing wear after about 500 hrs (half beans) for me is the last half revolution of the loading auger which runs in a pile of grain all the time. The edge is where the wear (and grain cracking) occurs. gs
