My experience with the rasp bars on the spec. rotor has been that the bars over the grates will run about twice as long as the bars over the concaves. I always change them when the leading edge of the rasp is rounded back about half the length of the rasp. I hope that makes sense. As for the bearings in the feeder house, I would opt for taking the feeder off, a little easier to work on. I always set the front of the feeder on some small blocks and hold the back end up with a tractor loader or something and then back the combine away and go to work on it.

Its quite easy to remove the feeder if you have a small grain head. Just leave it attached to the head put the head down on the ground, or sitting on a header wagon if you have one, then undo the required parts near the feeder pivot, and back away.

Changed mine two years ago , left the cornhead on , jacked and blocked the feederhouse up and backed the machine away . I have 30.5x32 tires so I would have had to remove the wheel to get that big heavy drive pulley and shaft out. If you have a rocktrap it would be a good idea to change those bearings also , I didn't and the next season I had to go through the same process again to change them . The feeder shaft and rocktrap shaft take the same bearings . I have a 1660 but I think they are all the same. I can't help you on the rotor , I have a std rotor . JDJIM

Roldham, We've replaced only raspbars over the front concaves on several machines with no problems however one gave us a fit ended up having to weigh each bar and static balancing the rotor in neutral. Then run rotor through the RPM's and watch the cab mirrors for shaking. It worked. I think Case will balance them at the factory for free. (shipping is up to you however)

20 minutes to drop feeder house....use a forklift and run the forks up iinside the feeder house undo it and back off sit it on blocks pull the shaft and pulley all of has one u will need two of u making sure u mark where the washers and the spacers with the spiral go..when putting back in just watch the plastic seal at the top of the feeder house good luck using the head also works just has well
