How much propane does a pilot light use? I'm wondering how much it costs to leave it running every day.

The pilot light on what? ..... I know on my water heater it's not even enough to pay attention to. Actually for that matter an 80 gallon propane water heater kept at 150°F for a single occupant home is basically in the noise compared to heating a house with propane.

Now if you're asking about the pilot light on some sort of industrial equipment that could be a whole different matter.....

Got this off the internet:

A pilot light is a small flame that is kept lit to provide a catalyst for the main burner to be turned on when needed. The average fuel consumption of your standing Pilot light is: Natural gas is $0.60 a day = $219 a year. Liquid Propane is $1.80 a day = $657 a year.Oct 13, 2017
