Farny we shelled a 45 acre field of corn east of Jeff's farmhouse about 10 days ago. We pulled out 5,500 bushels for 120-125 yield which is slightly above average for this ground. Moisture was 16.0-16.5 in that field. the other corn varieties are still above 20% so we are on hold. The late soybeans are also too wet. It will be another week before we are back in the field. Jeff does have a 17 acre field of soybeans that are ready to run across from the town of losantville. They are armpit high so I am excited to see what the yield will be. I ran 15 acres last Thursday and bean yields were running between 50 and 60 which is really good for us. I learned a lesson in the field. Don't run the engine side of a 6620 against tree branches. I plugged up the screen and shut it down just before the needle went to the red line. At least I didn't bend a dumping augur or bust a windshield this year.......

Or bust out most of the feeding augur fingers with a large tree branch, or rip off most of the reel teeth on the 915 with balled up beans, or plug the feederhouse like I always did on the 4420, or run one of the grain table shoes into the back of Jeff's pickup....... And I flew AF jetsIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJ

Same to you Farny. I hope the rest of your harvest goes smoothly. We are speculating 60bpa on that 17 acre field. That will be one WEll loaded semi trailer!

Here in eastern Iowa, the bulk of the crops are harvested. Just a perfect fall for combining. Very little rain, warn sunny days. Moisture running in low 20's and teens. Yields down a bit but good over-all.Very little gas used for drying..thats a big plus for a change.
