Will not answer your last question! However, some thoughts on 6600SH. Better have 6620 feederhouse, because the all paddle one on 6600 was trouble. 1978 6600SH was my first new combine, and lived in it for several years. Factory fuel settings had engine starved down so combine wouldn't hurt itself. Turned mine up until power was adequate....10% should be about right. 10% fuel increase on 4630 tractors has given 20% increase in HP. Have doubts about corn head mod's. With operating in high yields and as fast as possible to avoid sep loss, I'd think slower gathering chain speed would not take ears to auger fast enuf. Ears are going to pile up and slide down and right over rubber earsavers. After first season use with my66,saw MANY green bunches in fields next spring. The dreaded..EAR lOSS at cornhead. Sidehill machine stands taller than level land and angle of cornhead to ground is increased. In summer of 1979 built probably first wedge kit for deere combines. It's a cinch on sidehill drive because already have u-joints in drive line at rear of cornhead. Itsolved problem of ears sliding out and steep cornhead angle. Built a couple since then. Really think they are necessary on SH machines. Should have patented the idea! At the very least I would go from staggered gathering chain pattern to a side-by-side gathering chain lug position. Some other points.....check primary countershaft and bearings....if 1200 hours since previous replacement, do it now. Have another unload auger drive belt already in place, safely tucked out of way with 'baling wire' so when belt in use busts a gut, cut it out and untie new one and slip over sheaves. At one time there were 12 6600SH in five mile radius of me. They were good machines! Hope these tips help! Good luck!
