Jake In our area 25-30% corn is a norm. When we ran a 1480 we had trouble with the clean grain elevator keeping up with the rest of the machine. That was at 150-190bu_ac wet. We increased the elevator and the top auger speed and increased elevator slip clutch torque (a couple washers under springs). We still run the worn out 1480 concaves in our 2388 with everyother wire out for corn. Based on how tight the grain is to the cob you can run the concave as wide as possible (4-6) and still remove the grains. Turn rotor as slow as possible. Never had a problem with elevator paddles. If I figure right you're expecting up to 285bu_acre. A six row would have been plenty. We ran slots on our 1480 (all they made). If you pull the wires and get the concave_rotor speed right most of the corn is out in the first two concaves. Good luck!
