We had the same problem with our 1440, then the 1660. We bought one of those spring loaded doors sold by CIH and it helped somewhat but didn't eliminate the problem Now we have a 2366 which came from the factory with the spring loaded trap and it also dribbles when you first swing the auger back. I agree it is aggravating and I have often wondered how much grain we loose in a year but doubt if it all that much but could be surprised.

Brad I don't notice it too much, but we try to always completely empty the hopper, even unloading on the go. I know that if a stop unloading with the auger full, it definately dribbles a little. All a door is going to do is trap grain higher. I seriously doubt if there is a really good answer.

Work the auger back and fourth a few times while still over wagon or truck, then leave your auger out a minute and let grain fall back down the auger. This helps a little. Also you could try stronger springs on trap door. I hate to raise a crop all year and watch it dribble out of the combine (anywhere).
