Combines HP diff 2188 vs 2388

as far as I know yes plus 23 is air to air intercooled vs water. But the air cooler is the first thing to plug and hardest to clean on 23, but I don't know how much they really gained. A pyrometer is a very necessary insturment on a hopped up machine, they should have all had them from factory.

A Pyrometer would be nice on a 2388 but CIH went one better. When things get too hot back there the header shuts off and you don't cut anything until it cools down.

So on our 2388 if the egt gets to high it will disengage the machineIJ We are goin to turn the power up hopefully.

If I remember correctly on my 03 2388s if the temperature got to high an alarm would come on and if you did not stop and let it cool down the header would shut off in a few minutes. The only time I ever had any trouble with that is if the air to air cooler got dirty.

The switch you are referring to is in the air to air cooler. Engine overloads will show up on the intake air temp. None of these machines had any kind of pyrometer. Do not remember for sure if the last MY 03's were an electronic engine or not. The 2500's are HPCR.
