Technically, the job of the snapping rolls are just to pull the stalks through, not really to chew them up. Hugger heads are quite aggressive and do chew the stalks up more than competitive corns heads in my observation, but in tough conditions all you can really expect is for the stalks to be pulled down through the head. The snapping roll blades can be turned around once the leading edge gets rounded off to make them bite more too. Good luck- Tom langan
