My suggestion is for you to use a set of Gorden cover plates to increase the threshing action of your combine.

Since you are running the keystock grates, you should have plenty of area for seperation. I agree with Marvin on adding the cover plates to make the threshing more aggressive. If you have plenty of power, you can also fully retard the vane position over the concaves to keep the material in the front of the rotor longer. For the really hard threshing varieties, the helical concave with cover plates might be the best.

What do you mean by long fingered chafferIJ I would prefer the 1 1_8" spaced short fingered chaffer for a clean wheat sample, not the combination chaffer, and for sure not the corn chaffer with 1 5_8" spacing between wires.
