Could not agree more with you John but in this case I am sure Pengs5 does not mean it at all as a crack at Tbran and NDDan. Just the opposite in fact. This may be hard to understand. It is a called a cultural clash, something that every Aussie that goes to the USA has to learn very quickly to avoid being misunderstood and insulting or angering Americans with Aussie slang and what at times is a very blunt manner of speaking or a very ironic sense of humour as in this case. I have on a couple of occasions inadvertently and totally insulted Americans with our slang until I got the message. Strangely there seems little in the American slang, other than a couple of, by our standards, minor but very gross slang expressions, that worries Aussies. Cheers

I think the Hutch part comes from Hutchinson, Kansas. Tillage companies have had their name and products bought up by other companies. If they still produce products, it could be they are made in Canada.

Its OK John, ROM is right. I think the world of tbran and nddan and every one else that helps out here. Was just giving a bit of a cheek.(like tbran and his mother in law). I would consider myself as a expert on american _aussie cultural clash as have been married to my wonderful American wife for ten years and have been slowly teaching my inlaws who have moved out here four years ago . (they are now learning really fast and are saying things that go over everyones head when they go back to Montana ). All good fun though. Cheers pengs5

Town called Big timber. In between Billings and Bozeman. Sort of central MT. Amongst the rockys. 1 Hr to yellow stone park. They farmed there sheep and cattle. Cheers pengs5

Hi Pengs5. Was in that area at Bozeman a long time ago. 1991. Professor Jim Sims from the state university at Bozeman took my brother and self up through Helena, Great Falls and up to Big Sandy for a couple of field days where we gave the locals a run down on what we were doing with medics and the nitrogen fixation they were giving us. Went onto another FD's at lewistown where Rolf, who had been driving headers for Marvin Gorden across Oklahoma and Kansas caught up with us. Rolf took us back down to Billings and then onto Bismarck, Fargo and down onto Denver. Some nice country around Bozeman and Billings. Went on from there to Canada, Chicago, the UK, Sweden, Finland, the USSR[ at that time! ] and onto home. A good trip. Will catch up with you some time.
