Dave, It's been a few years since I ran the 1680s, but I can't remember changing that bearing on them either. I looked that bearing up on my CD parts catalog and as near as I can tell, the 1600, 2100 and 2300 all use the same bearing and idler. That's interesting! Were you asking me if I've changed augers and shaker bushingsIJ No I haven't, and they'er all in good shape. K.A.

Just wondering about the augers and bushings. Seems like I have to replace something on the unloading system every 1,000,000 bushels or so. I replaced the shaker bushings this year because of wear. It was suggested to me to replace them every third year or 600 to 800 hours. That is probably not to far off for my machine. I had replaced a couple of bushings last year but should have done the complete set. I had some metal stress because of worn bushings. I've heard the current model bushings do last longer.

I have a 1640 (1988 model) with 3080 hrs. I did not change the shaker bushings when I should have. Had to get a new bottom screen and replace the bushings. Also, with only 55 acs. left this year, had to overhaul the engine. Broke a piece out of the n1 piston about the size of your fingernail. I did not expect that to happen to an IH 466 w_ no turbo.

some people have all the luck we have replaced shaker bushes every 1000 have done a few of the pulley ones we replace the bearing often now to save time in harvest..john deere planter closing wheel bearing fits well...have worn out augers i do think a bit more thickness in metals would help the job the shaker making sure timing is right saves the bushs

We had a 1460 that went through a few bearings until we moved the tightener rod to the other side. This caused it to pull down straighter and we never had a problem after that.
