What exactly do hyd deck plates doIJ I have never been around them, and I am a little curious what the advantage is with them.

They allow you to change the clearance between the deck plates on the go to adapt to differnt corn stalk thickness .

not yet, I checked. You can get knife rolls for about 600 bucks a row, though. Which seems real high as I look out at my 50 bu. corn crop. GS
