Combines hyd pump

The 1660 used a 15 gpm hydraulic pump. It is similar and is slightly larger and I think fits in place. I also have a 1981 1460 serial 24489 and I replaced this pump 7 years ago. It wasn't putting out flow and it had an external leak. I got a reman pump from Case IH of the 12 gpm variety and it works very well. Note that IH in 1983 changed the supplier of this hydraulic pump to the one they now use for the reman pump due to reliability problems. Stick to a reman 12 gpm unit. It is cheap and does the job.

Did the 12gpm pump stop the steering from being jumpy at right_left limitsIJ My 1460 steering does that and I would like to fix it.

I am having the same problem with the steering being jumpy. Someone has suggested using a 1480 hyd pump. It has more gpm. My header is very slow. However while I am raising the header my steering is smoothIJ

Yes it did. It also made the lift response much quicker. It will do the job.
