Combines hydraulic corn reel motor to 480 cat

The multi-link connector just has low volume oil for intermittent, low flow, functions such as raising the reel, reel fore_aft, and hydraulic deck plate adjustment. Flow only occurs through those small lines when you move the small knob (reel raise _lower, fore-aft) on the multi-function handle.

It was the thought to be trained mechanic from cat that looked at the combine and in the book and told me that it would work.and also spent a day trying to get the auto contour on my corn head to work before leaving on his week vacation.I payed $4500.00 for the sensor kit for auto contour on corn head.I asked him If he could call someone to help him figure it out and he said he really didn't know who to call.bottom line is I ran out of time and put the sensor kit back in the box and willtry next year.This year will have to do without reel or auto contour.I did get the hydraulic pump kit that you suggested but with two combines two grain cart tractors to service I don't have time to put it on

Just curious: What city and State are you inIJ Who is your Cat dealerIJ Seems as though they did not send a trained combine mechanic.

That sounds about like the service we get from our Cat dealer on our Challengers. They send someone who only brings half the parts and mis-assembles what they do bring. After a couple of more trips, the thing still won't work unless we fix it ourselves. As critical as harvest is to us, I can't imagine trying to keep a lexion going. I took one look at the wires in that compartment by the door and knew it wasn't for me, no matter how good of a combine it is.

The lexion is comparable to a newer deere circut board wise. If you would put all of the cirdut boards from the deere that are on the lefthand side of the machine, right hand side, and engine compartment on one board like the lexion thy would be very similar in size. The one large board makes the electronics much more accesible and maintainable.

Temple, Texas Holt is the dealer now after aquiring Darr in March of 2002.Maybe they haven't gotten their ag under control in my area yet.They did have an ag equipment specialist in corpus christi that called and found out about the auto contour sensor kit and hydraulic pump kit.But the thing that gets me is the salesman for Darr told me when I got the combine in 2000 that its auto contour would work with a 12 row corn head but when he brought it on the yard he said he found out the corn head was to heavy and Darr gave me the run a round from then on telling me it was on the way.I should have gotten that in writing. Since then the salesman is gone and Darr has been acuired by Holt.As I am too busy with harvest and just stopped a few hours while waiting on railcars.I will give Holt another try after harvest.When I take auto contour sensor kit back out of box,but for $4500.00 somebody better make it work.The mechanic they did send did show me how to manully move the auto contour from the button inside the cab which is helping when harvesting on terraces wish someone had told me that two years ago.As for the combine performance its still unmatched and I still haven't even had a breakdown yet.This is the most reliable combine on the market

Thanks for that explanation. There have been some growing pains there in Texas as Holt takes over that portion of the former Darr territiory.
