Combines Hydro Howl

the newer hydro just has a louder wine to it. the old piggy back hydro's that they used in recent years past are a lot quieter. I had many customers that commented on the hydro noise. there is no way that I know of that you can quit it down at the hydro itself, the only thing that i can suggest is is trying to muffle the niose like you have padding the hoses. good luck

So what did we gain by going to a split hydro unit other than a lot more noiseIJ Are they more reliable than the old onesIJ Easier to fixIJ Cheaper for AGCO to buyIJ Just wondering - 'cause if there are no advantages, I'd say it's a step backward. I've not been around a newer machine. but if the noise is noticable in the cab, that ain't good. I have always been impressed with the quiet hydros on our Gleaners compared to the howling Axial Flow that cuts our neighbor's crops. AGCO must be buying the same or very similar hydro units as Basket CaseIH. Tom langan

The '80 and '81 N6's we run have two different transazles. Mine has the one with the control rod_cable on the side and the other one has the rod_cable on the top. Mine was tons quieter, I couldn't even hear the tranxaxle at all. The '80 was very noisy.
