I would suggest that your hydrostatic seal is out on the motor side of the hydrostatic unit. This is a special metal to metal spring loaded seal lubed with oil. I worked on an 8820 at one time which did that several times. The problem was the coupler between the hydrostatic unit and the transmission walked over on the shaft as it was under load ,taking out the snap ring inside the coupler to keep it centered ,and then it simply wore into the seal on the hydrostatic and the oil leaked into the trans.
