I saw that he has a kit. I have done the whole modification and am very pleased. Had to do mine from scratch with some e mail photos so the kit will take some of the guess work out of it.

I don't think I'll have kits for machines older than 1992 other than maybe R40-50s which are very similiar to R42-52s. You could likely see similiar improvements with tilted floors and hump removed from your R70 but I'm afraid you'll have to wing it on that one. If it were me I would make my own replacement floor with 1_4" flat iron and leave the hump out of it. I know an Aussie did just this and did not tilt the floor and noticed a nice improvement in feeding with noticeable better flow threw rotor. R70 and prior machines had flater entrance toward rotor thus they didn't give use the trouble the newer machines did. I'll be shipping out first feeder kit for R62 tomorrow. Good to hear it worked in your part of the world also. Did you get your dealer onto itIJ I got some Canadians onto it and they are chomping at the bit to give it a try. No reason it won't fix them up when it works all over the states and Australia.

ND Dan, this is exactly what I was thinking of doing in replacing floor with 1_4" flat iron. Now the hump you are referring to is the plate in the transition area between the two chainsIJ You are definitely right as far as feeding problems go, there have been no major issues with this R70 except in extreme high moisture_high yielding milo, and at that, the feeder is not plugged very often. Well good to hear that other people have had good luck with this mod, also best of luck on your feeder kits. Sounds like Gleaner should start putting this feed modification on the new machines at the factory. Again thanks Blake

Yes it is humped up area in front of rear tention drum. Approx 9" of floor. Now if you should decide to tilt floors you'll need to do both. What works out on newer machines is 3_4" at rear of front feed and 1" at front of rear feed. Company got first MAJOR push from a few of us dealers this year so it will likely come a couple more years down the road. Finishing class 8 and other projects in the works will be first. Good luck
